We did a complete review of everything so far in Chapter 3 today. The notes on are the class notes page. We also learned one more new way to factor. There is one more additional way that we will learn Wednesday or Thursday. Prepare for a Unit Test on Chapter 3 – next week.

I will not be in class tomorrow. Your substitute will be doing review with you and then give you an in-class assignment that you will work on for the remainder of class. The homework from Monday will be checked on Wednesday.

Today we took expanding and simplifying to a whole new level!
F.O.I.L ing is something you may remember from Grade 9.
First, Outside, Inside, Last is an acronym to help you remember the steps you would follow to multiply two binomials together. There will be class notes on the class notes page soon. Homework is Pg. 108 # 33-57 ODD.

Assignment due tomorrow and Quiz tomorrow on the first section of Chapter 3 that we have covered so far (types of polynomials, degrees, adding, subtracting multiplying and dividing polynomials, expand and simplify).

Today we reviewed adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing polynomials and began your assignment. Homework for the PM class was pg. 102 : 38-56. I will be checking this tomorrow.
Your assignment is due Thursday March 10th at the beginning of your class.
You will have a quiz on Thursday as well – your quiz will cover exponent rules and polynomial operations (basically everything that is on your assignment). If you need some extra help before your quiz – there is a study session tomorrow at lunch and Thursday at lunch.

AM: We reviewed exponent laws and completed # 1-49 on pg. 33 and some word problems. Homework was the 5 questions from the Smartboard.
PM: Presentation with Mr. Foster. Pg 33 – #1-49 were assigned for homework.

Today we learned what Arithmetic Series are (the sum of all numbers in a sequence) and we learned how to find them (the formula). Check out the class notes page for a couple of examples.
Homework was pg. 82-83 # 1-21
You must show your work! – Formula, substitution and answer!
You will need to use both the new formula and the general term formula from the Sequences section.

The Sequence Test review document has an example of each type of question you can expect to see. The files are in .pdf’s. You can downloan Adobe for your computer if you don’t have it.
